When EZ-Term is installed on a terminal it will automatically locate the server address and install with default settings.  On the Toolbar at the top of the EZ-Term screen you will see Action, Edit, View, Setup, Lock, EZ-Memo, Panic and Help.   Features accessible with these buttons are as follows:

Action

  1. Connect/Disconnect - This allows you to Connect and/or Disconnect from your Linux Server
  2. Reset - Not typically needed by a credit union this option will restore your terminal display to startup condition.
  3. Print Screen - Will print the EZ-Term screen as you see it to your printer
  4. Save Screen - Will save the screen image as a graphic with a .sht extension
  5. Exit - You will exit out of EZ-Term without actually Disconnecting from the Linux Server first.  

Edit

  1. Copy - Allows you to copy highlighted text to be pasted into another program.
  2. Paste - Lets you past text that was copied from another location.
  3. Select All - Highlights the entire screen.  You can then choose Copy, and Paste the text only from screen displayed into a word processor program.  You should be aware that all of the program code used for spacing and color changes will be included in this screen capture, and not the actual colors themselves.

View

  1. Refresh - Refresh the screen display
  2. 132 Column Mode -  Makes the screen display more narrow.  The normal setting is 80 Column Mode.

Setup

  1. See EZ-Term Setup for specific information.

Lock

  1. Press this button to lock your terminal so that no one can post transactions on it.  The Terminal Lock box will appear.  To post using this terminal you will be required to Disconnect and log back in to EZ-Term, or enter the Linux Password that was originally used to log onto the terminal.  

EZ-Memo    Used to send messages between terminals on your system.   See USING EZ-MEMO for detailed information.

  1. View Memos - Choose this option to view memos that have been sent to you.
  2. Send Memo - Choose this option to send a memo to another terminal on the system by choosing that person on the list in the top portion of the window.  

Panic

  1. Robbery - Sends an EZMemo to all terminals saying  !!!  Robbery in Progress.   Call 911 immediately.
  2. Medical -  Sends an EZMemo to all terminals saying !!!  Medical Emergency in Progress.   Call 911 immediately.
  3. Fire  - Sends an EZMemo to all terminals saying !!! Fire Emergency in Progress.   Call 911 immediately.
  4. Cancel Previous Panic - Sends an EZMemo to all terminals saying Cancel Previous Emergency
