THE FOLLOWING THINGS SHOULD BE TESTED ON EACH INDIVIDUAL TERMINAL WITH THE HELP OF YOUR INSTALLER PRIOR TO CONVERSION.

 All instructions are written assuming you are using EZ-Term, not Zterm 2000.

INSTALL EZ-Term

Go to ezterm.ers2000.com on each of your PC's to download EZ-Term and install it.  There is no charge for EZ-Term, and installation is very simple.   For more detailed instructions see the document on this site called INSTALLING EZ-Term.

 TERMINAL SIGN ON

Double Click on the EZ-Term Icon  on your Desktop

                        Linux Log-on ID = ers01

                        Linux Password = Ex512qp

                 NOTE: To meet security standards, the EZ-Term screen will ‘time-out” after 20 minutes of non-activity and require the Linux Log-On ID and Linux Password be entered again.   See EZ-Term FEATURES for explanation of how to by-pass this feature.

TESTING BEFORE CONVERSION

 When you are using the practice system you will see that the majority of the programs work identically to those you have been using up to now.  Before going live on Linux you should have tested the following:

         ON EVERY TERMINAL

                Print Vouchers

                Print Checks

                Print Histories

                Print Reports

BE SURE TO DO A SCREEN PRINT OF  THE  LINUX XCHECK SETTINGS FROM EACH TERMINAL.   YOU WILL LOSE THESE SETTINGS DURING FINAL CONVERSION AND HAVE TO RE-ENTER THEM BEFORE STARTING BUSINESS THE FIRST DAY.  

 Note: The check form type for continuous form vouchers is A.

         BACKUP

        Do a test backup in Program 30 Option 1

        The first time you use a disk it will tell you that it has not been formatted and ask you if you want to format it.  Answer yes and the disk will be formatted and backup completed.  

SYBIL

You will receive a connector from Sammy (ext 110) for each of your Sybils.

If you want, you can temporarily connect your Sybil to the Linux server and test it.  Contact Jamie on ext 119 to activate it for you.

 CREDIT BUREAU

                You will not be sending or receiving data from the Credit Bureau thru the system anymore on Linux.  (We plan for that to change in the future) Be sure you have contacted the credit bureau (s) you use and made arrangements to exchange data via their secure website.  Test to be sure that is all operational BEFORE you schedule your final conversion

LOAN FORMS

                Write down the NAME in Program 28 of all loan processing forms you use.  You must have the loan form NAME and not the number assigned to it on the far left.  

                Loan Forms will all be assigned different numbers on Linux.  Once you locate the form the first time, the system will default to that form, but you MUST know the form name to locate it initially.   EXAMPLE: LL NXX022 BALLOON-3 INS,CU PRENAME

 CERTIFICATE FORMS

Write down the NAME in Program #5 (not the number assigned to it) of any Certificate processing forms.  They will all be assigned different numbers on Linux.  Once you locate the form the first time the system will default to that form, but you MUST know the form name to locate it initially.

SHARED BRANCH

Be sure that you have the proper connectors for your Shared Branch connection to work on your Linux server.  Contact Sammy (ext 110) for connectors.

 SCHEDULE FINAL CONVERSION

 Once all testing has been done you need to schedule with your installer so that he can be at your location the first morning you are live on Linux, and contact Linda (ext 117) to make arrangements for Don and John to convert your data the prior evening.
