SETTING UP OR ASSIGNING EMPLOYEE  Linux LOG-IN AND POSTING PASSWORDS  AND ID

2066.htm

Employee Posting Password, User Initials, User Name, Linux Login-ID, Linux Password and EzMemo Groups are initially assigned by Management in Program #60 Option B.  The Linux Password and Posting Password used to log onto a terminal tells the system where this employee is currently working, and allows the EzMemo feature to locate them.

Program 60 Option B      There are 256 User Numbers available.

For purposes of this document, we will be using User #010 as examples listed in Blue Italics below.

User Number - This is just a number assigned to the line you are using in this program.  Totals in Program #7 Opt I can be pulled using this User Number. This number appears on the Status line at the bottom of your computer display screen    Example #010

Posting Password - The secret password that a teller enters to perform a transaction.  This can be up to 6 positions, alpha upper or lower case or numeric.  The first 3 positions MUST be unique.   Example lc6132

User Initials - The initials that appear on vouchers and reports.  Avoid duplicate initials.    Example LLC

User Name - The name of the person using these passwords.  This name will appear in the EZMemo feature (see separate documentation) and also on the Status line at the bottom of your computer display screen.  Example LINDA C

Linux Login-ID -  The user ID this person enters to log onto the CreditUnion2000 Linux system.     It must be a minimum of 5 positions with all alpha characters being a lower case letter.  This ID will appear on the Status line at the bottom of your display screen.   Example pcu010   (Since this is NOT a secret field, you may want to keep it simple.  In our example we use the CU initials and the User Number in all cases for the Login-ID.)

Linux Password - The secret password this person uses to log onto the CreditUnion2000 Linux system.  This password should be unique and can be from 5-16 alpha/numeric characters, with alpha characters being lower case.  Example llcjwcccbdjj

EZ-Memo Groups - Using a code entered in this field allows you to send an EzMemo to everyone in a specified group.  Each credit union can set up group codes as they choose  (i.e. M = Management L = Loan Department, 1=Branch 01, etc.).  Each employee can belong to up to 3 groups.
